As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. If you are still using Windows 7, Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10 to stay secure. Also, we don't have a way to access your Quicken download if you've purchased it from another retailer; you'll need to go to that retailer's site to download Quicken. Installing or reinstalling a download from Amazon.com (or any other retailer) is the same as installing a download from Quicken.com.

Adam,
Your suggestion put me on the right track to getting QB Pro 2004 Premier Accountant's Edition running on my Linux (Fedora Core 2) workstation under COO 3.0.1. To expand on your work, I had to do the following:
1. After the install process finished, QB wants to reboot to complete its installation. This is where I believe my install was failing. Apparently, the reboot cycle was not completing as QB expected so the install was only partially complete, which is why the application would start to launch, then flash back into an icon. I found a file in the QB program directory named 'reboot.bat'. This file is most likely run to fill the registry with values QB wants/needs to execute on start-up. Going back to the COO installer, I asked it to install this unsupported 'reboot.bat' file, which it did. I then had to reboot Linux. After logging in, QB would load and ask for registration information. After that, the sample company files seemed to work fine.
2. Things sort of cracked-up after the automatic update from Intuit. It seemed that the update went ok, that the installation of the updates went OK, but when the program reloaded, it 'forgot' its registration information and came back with a different installed serial #, which did not match the registration #. At that point I got stuck, so I reinstalled several times, just for good practice.
3. The QB Premier Accountant's Edition has a 'Fixed Asset Manager' application, which is essential for computing tax-basis depreciation. This application ran once, then the menu item disappeared. Can't explain it. Once it's gone, I don't know how to get it back, without a reinstall of QB. The Edit-->Preferences-->IntegratedApplication configration seemed to get confused when I tried to enable the FAM, acting like I was trying to set a closing date password. The Accountant's Navigator still shows the FAM link, but it is no-op.
If you'd like more info, my email is Bill.McCuistion@QBOpen.com.
I'll try to keep this area updated as I progress.
